Many of our roles are open to both men and women.
You don’t need to have been involved in guiding before or have loads of spare time to make a big difference. Whatever your skills and interests there’s a role to suit you.

At the heart of guiding are the unit meetings that girls go along to each week. Volunteering at unit meetings means getting messy, meeting new people and running activities that help girls discover their potential. You’ll volunteer directly with young people and can choose to work with girls in Rainbows, Brownies, Guides or Rangers. Unit meetings are usually an hour – 90 minutes once a week.
Young women aged 14 to 18 years old are able to join as Young Leaders, to find out more about their programme please follow the link Young Leader Qualification | Girlguiding
If you aren’t able to volunteer on a regular basis, you can still make an impact in a supporting role. No commitment is too small – every role is vital to running our charity.
