Anglia ’27 is a Region camp for just under 1,000 Guides, Rangers and Young Leaders being held on 7-13 August 2027 at Hautbois Activity Centre, giving girls across the region the opportunity to come together for activities, adventure, fun and friendship.
Who is it for?
Essex North East has been allocated a campsite for 79 girls plus a limited number of subcamp staff who will cover cooking, first aid and escorting girls as well as jobs as and when they crop up.
Following a registration of interest we have decided that to give as many girls as possible the opportunity to attend girl spaces will be open to Guides and Rangers without their leaders and allocated on a first-come basis. We appreciate that not all leaders can take a week off work to camp so the subcamp leaders will be selected from anyone interested in attending.
We do need your help in getting the information to the girls and their parents.
What’s included and how much?
The camp includes a varied programme of 4 one hour activities sessions a day and evening activities as well as an off-site day and subcamp fun. The cost of the event includes county getting to know you activities, fundraising ideas Zoom call and afternoons, a piece of event merchandise and an event badge.
Transport from a central location will be provided. The cost for the week is £485 a girl, bookings opening in September on receipt of a completed form and a non-refundable deposit of £50. Parents are asked to book directly. We appreciate that this is not a small sum of money but payments will be split into more manageable chunks.
Can our leaders go?
Due to the amount of work that leaders on the subcamp will be doing we have decided to not charge subcamp leaders however a selection event has been booked for Saturday 3rd October at Black Notley Scout and Guide Hall. If you are interested in joining the team please use the link on the website to book your place. Subcamp leaders will be expected to be DBS and Safer Guiding compliant at the time of the event and preferably to hold a valid 1st Response or equivalent qualification.
Event Staff
For those wishing to attend who are not selected, several event staff roles will be advertised by the Anglia ’27 organisers, the cost of which is £100 which will include your food and lodging. We haven’t been advised how much space we will have but, if space allows, may be able to offer you the opportunity to camp on the subcamp.
